Good earth pits as specified by BIS / IEC are made using Copper Plates/Rods or GI Plates/Pipes. They are dug deep in the ground in different combinations. Earth Conductivity Enhancement Compound is used to make the pit the pits are maintenance free, as well as improve the soil conductivity by 3 – 20 times. Pits with low resistance, 2.0 ohms for lightning and less than 1ohm for equipments are recommended. The maintenance free earthing is advantageous as water pouring at regular intervals is not required, because it retains the moisture. It also maintains almost the same earth resistance value, regardless of soil and climatic condition.
ESE is a innovative external lightning protection device, which is radio quiet and is active only during the lightning event. The system comes in two pieces which are put together and then mounted on a Mast with the help of an adapter. It can be installed on a tower, rooftop or on the sidewall of the building. The adapter provides for the fixture of the Down Conductor. A Lightning Counter is positioned in a manner through which the Down Conductor passes en-route to the pit. The Lightning Counter is positioned at a height just above the guard pipe, so that it can be can be easily monitored.
External Lighting Protection is a necessity. Lighting, a natural phenomenon cannot be avoided but can be protected against. Two types of external lightning protection namely Advanced Lightning Prevention also called Early Stream Emission (ESE) and Advanced Lightning Capture System also called Dissipation Array System (DAS) are available. Protection is available against direct lightning. The equipments are capable of handling multi strikes of lightning of the order of 200KA at 10/350 microseconds waveforms. Dissipation of this energy to earth is done through low impedance copper down conductor & maintenance free earth pits.
Phase and Neutral balancing systems is specially designed by Pragati Electrocom for managing uneven load distribution in a three phase system. A three phase power system, when unevenly loaded, causes different phase-neutral voltages and heavy unbalance current flows in a neutral conductor. This results in huge power loss. PNBS when connected across the mains input equalizes the three phase voltages there by reducing the neutral and the power loss. PNBS also generates virtual neutral or phase for the load if the same is not available in mains supply. The use of this system reduces power bill as it equalizes voltage and cable losses are also reduced.
Transformers have capacitance from a winding to any nearby Conductor. They can couple high frequency signals and noise to this near-by conductors.This mechanism can carry high frequency noise. They work between the input primary to the output secondary winding or vice versa An isolation transformer eliminates common mode noise providing an isolated neutral-ground reference for sensitive equipment. Isolation transformers are generally with symmetrical windings. An isolation transformer transfers an AC signal from one device to another without electrically connecting the two circuits. These remove EMI/RFI noise, utility switching transients, and harmonics generated by other on-site loads utility or lightning related surge conditions.

Free cooling is an economic method of using low outside air temperature to cool the inside air of an equipment room. This helps in saving energy by reducing running time of Air conditioner fitted in the equipment room. The solution can be deployed for the telecom shelters with or without having provision for air conditioners.The system senses shelter temperature, ambient temperature and relative humidity. Based on the logical conditions, it provides suitable outputs in the form of 48V DC supply to ventilator fans and PFC for air conditioner operation.
